About Global Credit Data

 ‘By banks, for banks’

The Global Credit Data Consortium (GCD or the Association) is a registered non-profit association owned by around 50 banks and financial institutions around the world.  Its mission is to help banks understand and model their credit risks.  Activities include pooling of credit loss data, especially for low default portfolios; providing benchmarks; facilitating knowledge exchange and fostering research.  With a small staff in Europe and North America, GCD runs databases, working groups, conferences and performs analytics, all dedicated to the needs of its members.

 

The Role

The Global Credit Data Consortium seeks a person to take on the most senior executive leadership role of the association.  The successful candidate will be responsible for all activities and operations of the Association, including managing personnel, carrying out the strategy of the Board and representing the Association in the financial community.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote the benefits of membership of the Association to executives and senior management at banks and other finance industry companies, both to existing and potential members
  • Ensure delivery of data, benchmarks and services to members
  • Represent the Association with finance industry bodies, including regulators, consultants, suppliers and other industry associations
  • Lead and support the executives and managers, including comprehensive resource planning and development
  • Work with the Board to develop and enhance the vision for the association, keeping GCD at the forefront of financial industry trends
  • Develop and implement activity, marketing, business and product development strategies for the Association

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

Required:

  • Strong banking sector experience
  • Proven track record as a manager, able to lead, coach and develop staff in a cross-cultural environment
  • Team player, with good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in managing a business or department
  • Self-motivated and with flexible working-hours
  • Relevant University degree(s)
  • A proven record of absolute discretion in treating confidential and restricted information;
  • Full fluency in English and excellent communication skills

Advantageous:

  • Extensive experience in Banking industry credit risk measurement practices and recent regulatory developments
  • international network of finance industry contacts at senior levels
  • project or programme management experience
  • strong presentation skills, e.g. conferences
  • experience running a member driven association
  • sales and marketing experience
  • other languages (e.g. French, Dutch, German)

 

Further information:

Global Credit Data (GCD) is registered in The Netherlands but does not maintain a physical office premises. We are recruiting a person who has the right to live and work in Europe and who will be comfortable working from their own home office in Europe.  Most staff and key suppliers are based in Europe, all working from home but with GCD supplying necessary software and services.  GCD’s policy is to offer remuneration competitive with similar roles in the Finance Industry.
